How to make a Tiny Desk AI video

Choose a Tiny Desk scene, assign the band roles, and compare photo-based generators before you upload or pay.

To make a Tiny Desk AI video with minimal setup, use a generator with the concert scene already loaded. Choose who will replace the singer and other band members, upload the required portraits, check the example, and confirm the output and checkout details. You should not need to find a reference clip or write a long prompt for the workflows listed here.

Start with the Tiny Desk comparison. The generators use the same recognizable performance setting, but their cast options, clip lengths, and payment methods differ. Those differences matter more than a shared “Tiny Desk AI” label.

1. Identify the version you want

Watch the example on the creation page before uploading. Look for the singer, keyboard, backing vocals, and saxophone moments you remember. Check whether the preview shows the original band, an AI recast, or only a promotional illustration.

A 15-second excerpt and a 17-second excerpt may cut at different moments. A different framing can also change which performers are visible. If you need a particular close-up or saxophone cut, confirm that it appears in the actual template example.

2. Map the people to the roles

Write down your cast before selecting photos. Keep the singer first, then match each remaining person to a named slot. This prevents a group joke from putting the intended lead behind the keyboard.

Put Me In’s creation page has one required lead portrait and four optional roles. Unfilled roles keep an original performer. The MemeRecast workflow described on TinyDeskMeme also advertises five cast slots. Read the slot labels on the provider you choose; do not assume every site handles missing roles in the same way.

Use a separate, recognizable photo for each chosen person. Upload a group image only when the form explicitly supports it. If a slot is unclear, resolve it before buying a render rather than hoping the generator will infer your intended cast.

3. Prepare the portraits

Pick a clear view of each face, without another person overlapping it. Avoid photos that depend on a filter or an extreme angle to be recognizable. Check the provider’s file-type and size requirements, which can differ between sites.

Use photos of people who agreed to appear. Before sending them to a third party, read that provider’s retention and deletion rules. MemeRoute does not receive the portraits you upload to a generator.

4. Check sound and payment

Audio varies between Tiny Desk generators, including options with silent downloads. Confirm that the finished download includes the soundtrack; music in a provider’s example alone does not establish this. These are provider claims rather than our independent playback tests.

Compare the minimum amount required at checkout. A displayed credit cost is not necessarily the smallest credit pack you must buy. A short trial, when offered, may also differ from the full paid clip in length or eligibility.

5. Review the finished file

Watch the whole output before posting. Check the assigned people, cuts, framing, and soundtrack. Save the original download before making a crop or adding captions, so you can return to it without generating again.

If the result fails, use the provider’s stated support or refund process. We have checked public workflow descriptions, not independently tested generation quality. Compare the current listings for dated source links and known limitations.
